Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card "Multiple Rewards" and "Hassle-Free Redemption" Program Terms and Conditions
   
General Conditions:
(1) The Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card “Multiple Rewards” and “Hassle-Free Redemption” Program (“Program”) is offered by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (“Bank”) to Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Cardholders and Standard Chartered Hospital Authority Platinum Credit Cardholders (“Cardholders”) starting from 1 May 2011 upon the following terms and conditions.
(2) The Program consists of the following Reward Schemes, and their respective terms and conditions are more specifically provided below:
A. Consecutive Spending Reward Scheme;
B. Double Reward Scheme; and
C. Hassle-Free Redemption Scheme.
(3) To be eligible for the Program, the Cardholder's Standard Chartered Platinum and Standard Chartered Hospital Authority Platinum Credit Card Account (“Account”) must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Bonus Points offered under the relevant Scheme is credited to the Account. The Bank reserves the right to refuse to credit or honour any Bonus Points if the relevant Cardholder fails once or more to pay on or before the relevant due date any Minimum Payment Due under the relevant Standard Chartered Platinum and Standard Chartered Hospital Authority Platinum Credit Card (“Card”).
(4) Spending of or Bonus Points earned by the Principal and any relevant Supplementary Cardholder(s) will be grouped together for monthly spending computation and redemption purposes under the Program. Bonus Points will be credited to the Cardholder’s (or as the case may be, Principal Cardholder’s) Account and any extra Bonus Points to be rewarded under the Program will be credited to the Account within 3 months after the relevant statement period.
(5) In the event that any Bonus Point has been posted in the statement but subsequently, the transaction(s) that form(s) part or all of the Bonus Points is cancelled or refunded, without prior notice to the Cardholder, the Bank has the right to either debit from the Account the same amount of Bonus Points posted, or if the balance of Bonus Points is insufficient, charge to the Account a monetary amount equivalent to the value of the Bonus Points in concern.
(6) If the Account is voluntarily/involuntarily closed, all Bonus Points unredeemed, unused or not yet credited to the Account will be immediately forfeited upon the account closure.
(7) The method and criteria used to compute Bonus Points or effect Bonus Point redemption is decided and subject to the sole discretion of the Bank, and may be reviewed by the Bank from time to time. In case of any dispute, the Bank’s decision shall be final and binding.
(8) Bonus Points awarded under this Program will not be expired as particularly specified in the relevant monthly statements. Bonus Points are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The usage and validity of Bonus Points will be subject to the relevant terms and conditions as set out in the Bank’s Credit Cards Bonus Points Program which will be reviewed and amended by the Bank from time to time.
(9) Cardholders who have opted for the Cash Back Scheme are not eligible for the Program. In the event that the Cardholder is also entitled to any another prevailing promotion offer(s) of the Bank, the Bank reserves the right to provide only one or some of the offer(s) at its absolute discretion.
(10) The Bank reserves the right to terminate the Program and to vary or modify any of the Program Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice. In case of dispute, the Bank’s decision shall be final and binding.
   
Consecutive Spending Reward Scheme:
(11) The offer under Consecutive Spending Reward Scheme is that, in addition to any basic Bonus Point earned by the Cardholder, 500 extra Bonus Points will be rewarded to eligible Cardholder every time when the Cardholder has used the Card at least once each day for 2 consecutive days in settling Eligible Transactions (as described in clause 13) during a monthly statement period. A Cardholder can earn up to 5,000 extra Bonus Points per monthly statement period under the Scheme. The Consecutive Spending Reward Scheme is valid until 30 September 2013.
(12) To be eligible for the offer under clause (11), during the relevant monthly statement period, Cardholder has to have accumulated spending of over HK$4,000.
(13) Eligible Transactions:
(a) include:
  (i) local and overseas retail purchase transactions (including bill payment and Octopus AAVS reload) charged to the Card Account;
  (ii) retail purchase transactions to be settled through interest-free monthly instalment service, and the Bonus Points for these Eligible Transactions will be awarded to the Card Account monthly only for the instalment amount that is charged to the Card Account during the relevant month; and
(b) do not include:
  (i) the following transactions or payment items even if they are settled by or charged to the Card Account: cash advances, balance transfers, “instalment credit” amounts, “credit-to-cash” amounts, tax payment, financial charges and fees;
  (ii) any unposted, cancelled, refunded, falsified or unauthorised transactions.
   
Double Reward Scheme:
(14) The offer under the Double Reward Scheme is that during a monthly statement period, for the first HK$4,000 spending or any amount below, one Bonus Point will be awarded for every HK$1 spent under any Eligible Transactions. Once the monthly accumulated spending of Eligible Transactions exceeds HK$4,000 or above, such exceeded amount will be entitled to 2X Bonus Points, i.e. 1 extra Bonus Point will be awarded for every HK$1 of such exceeded amount spent. A Cardholder can earn up to 25,000 extra Bonus Points per monthly statement period under the Double Reward Scheme.
   
Hassle-Free Redemption Scheme:
(15) Cardholder (or as the case may be, Principal Cardholder) who wishes to participate in the Hassle-Free Redemption Scheme must have first successfully registered for the respective Account(s).
(16) Under the Hassle-Free Redemption Scheme, by the end of each yearly quarter, Bonus Points in an amount equivalent for redeeming a HK$100 cash voucher within the registered Cardholder’s Account will automatically be debited for redemption of a HK$100 cash voucher issued by the Bank’s selected merchant. Such amount of Bonus Points to be debited will be determined according to the conversion rate as designated by the Bank and subject to change from time to time. The relevant cash voucher(s) or redemption letter (if any) will be sent to Cardholder within 2 months after the end of the yearly quarter.
(17) If a redemption letter is issued under clause (16), the redemption letter will be subject to an expiry date and/or other terms and conditions specified in the letter. Use of any of the cash voucher redeemed under the Hassle-Free Redemption Scheme may also be subject to an expiry date and/or the relevant merchant’s terms and conditions. The Bank is not the supplier of any product or service related to the cash voucher and shall have no legal liability relating to any aspect of such related product or service including, without limitation, their quality, availability and supply.
(18) The Bank may change the selected merchant(s) from time to time without notice.
   
If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.
