Youth Sports Programmes
In partnership with the Hong Kong Rugby Union, the Bank launched “Operation Breakthrough”, which provides avenues for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in various sporting activities. The initiative helps to counter juvenile misbehaviour and provides a positive support channel for young people at risk of entering a life of crime. In addition, the “Youth Development Officer Programme” promotes rugby to youths in the community, encouraging students to participate in sports and lead a healthy, positive lifestyle.

Standard Chartered English Public Speaking Contest
Standard Chartered has been the sole sponsor for the competition for 6 consecutive years. Organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, a mass of over 9,600 young speakers have benefited from this contest over the years.

Hong Kong Community Chest Charity Mini-Octopus Card
To mark the 40th Anniversary of Community Chest of Hong Kong, Standard Chartered Hong Kong sponsored the charitable organisation in creating a special 40th Anniversary Mini Octopus Card. All funds raised through this event were used in full to enhance local social welfare services.

Princess Margaret Hospital Pediatric Nephrology Centre
The Bank has continuously supported Princess Margaret Hospital in purchasing Automated Peritoneal Dialysis machines for their Paediatric Nephrology Center - the only medical center in Hong Kong that provides paediatric peritoneal dialysis and renal transplant services.
