You may choose to receive a fixed interest rate of up to 3.6%p.a.* for 2 years# or step-up interest rates of up to 3%p.a.* for 1 year#.

Risk disclosure statement
Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked carries risks not normally associated with ordinary bank deposits and are generally not the same as and not a suitable substitute for ordinary savings or time deposits.  You should not invest in Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked unless you have sufficient funds or liquidity so as to enable you to keep the deposit with Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited ("the Bank") until the Maturity Date.  

The Principal Amount of the deposit under Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked is protected only if held to the Maturity Date without being cancelled or withdrawn by you.  Where the deposit under Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked is repaid at your request prior to the Maturity Date, the principal protection will not apply.  Any such cancellation or withdrawal prior to the Maturity Date is subject to the consent of the Bank, and you may incur costs or losses which may result in you receiving a lower return than expected, or even a negative rate of return, or an amount less than the Principal Amount. 

Where you hold the investment until the Maturity Date, the total return on the investment may be significantly less than the return which might be obtained on a normal time deposit.. Please refer to the relevant product materials for details. If you need to withdraw your funds from Structured Investment Series – Rate Linked before the Maturity Date, this product may not be suitable for you.

Your attention is also particularly drawn to the Risk Disclosure Statements contained in the Bank's general Terms and Conditions for Structured Deposits and the Additional Terms and Conditions for Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked.  However, neither this Term Sheet nor the Risk Disclosure Statements contained in the Bank's general Terms and Conditions for Structured Deposits, or in the Additional Terms and Conditions for Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked, purports to disclose all of the risks and all of the significant aspects of Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked.  Before deciding to place a deposit under the Structured Investment Series - Rate Linked, you should make sure that you are familiar with the relevant reference values and that you understand the effect that movement in the [reference rates will have on the return.  Where in doubt, you should seek independent legal and financial advice before making any decision.
