Seeing is Believing is one of the Standard Chartered's global community initiatives launched in 2003. It is a global fund raising campaign, aiming to eradicate avoidable blindness.
Since its launch, over one million sight restorations were completed and a total of over US$17 million was raised. In Hong Kong, we partner with ORBIS International to raise funds for various projects in mainland China and eyecare education in Hong Kong. Based on our encouraging results over the past three years, our new target is to raise USD 10 million by 2013 to assist 20 million people across 20 countries - focusing on prevention and education, as well as sight restoration.
