Regular review of your Financial Profile is crucial for you and the Bank to understand your financial needs and risk appetite, updating your Financial Profile is now made simpler and easier!

There are two objectives that you can choose for updating your Financial Profile maintained with the Bank:

  • General Profiling
  • The Bank can, base on your answers to Financial Profile and the Bank’s prevailing policy, provide a list of possible financial solutions for your own reference.

  • Product Suitability Re-assessment
  • For Premium Deposit, Currency Switching, Foreign Exchange Margin Trading and Leveraged Trading, the Bank will regularly invite existing customers who have signed up for any of these investment services to update their Financial Profiles. Customer can simply return the completed Financial Profile to the Bank by mail or fax to have the Financial Profile updated.

Update Financial Profile Record

Simple steps to update your Financial Profile record maintained with the Bank (See Important Note 1):

  1. Click the “Proceed” button on the right.

  2. Key in your Personal Details and enter your answers to the 9 Investment Profiling Questions. If the Education Level indicated in the Financial Profile Form differs from the Bank’s record, the Bank will update its record accordingly. Call our Enquiry Hotline at 2886 8868 or visit any of our branches if you have any enquiries.

  3. Read carefully to understand the “MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION” and “Customer Declaration” sections.

  4. Print the Form out. You may save and download the completed Form into your computer for your future reference. Sign on the Form (using the authorized signature you filed with the Bank) and return to the Bank either by mail to PO Box 68383 Kowloon East Post Office or fax to 2282 0107.

Special Notes

  1. If you complete this Financial Profile for the purpose of General Profiling, it is not mandatory for you to answer Investment Profile Question 8. If you complete this Financial Profile for the purpose of Product Suitability Re-assessment, you must complete Investment Profile Question 8 by choosing the percentage of total investible assets you are going to invest in these investment products respectively

  2. In accordance with the recommendation by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, banks in Hong Kong have to segregate their investment services and general banking services. If you wish, at the same time, to give consent to the Bank to access and utilize your deposit-related information for providing investment / wealth management services to you and provide full banking services for you at the dedicated "Investment • Financial Services" zones at our branches, please complete Section 3 Use of "Investment • Financial Services" zone in the form as well

  3. For Product Suitability Re-assessment for Premium Deposit, Currency Switching, Foreign Exchange Margin Trading and Foreign Exchange Leveraged Trading where applicable, read carefully to understand the Risk Disclosure Statements for these investment services as below:

  5. For Product Suitability Re-assessment of joint account, please also ask the joint account holder(s) to repeat the above steps and sign on his / her own Form.

  6. The Bank will send you the updated Financial Profile Report for your reference upon receipt of your completed Financial Profile Form.

Important Notes:

  1. This Financial Profile Update service is only applicable to existing customers of Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”).

  2. Investment Profile Question 8 must be answered by existing customers who have already signed up the following investment services: Premium Deposit, Currency Switching, Foreign Exchange Margin Trading and/or Foreign Exchange Leveraged Trading, for the purpose of product suitability re-assessment. Financial Profile Form returned by customer who has not signed up for any of the above-mentioned investment services will be treated for the purpose of “General Profiling”.

  3. Upon receipt of your duly completed Financial Profile Form, the Bank will update the Financial Profile record you maintain with the Bank. For product suitability assessment, if any one(s) of the following investment services, which include Premium Deposit, Currency Switching, Foreign Exchange Margin Trading and Foreign Exchange Leveraged Trading, you have signed up with the Bank is/are assessed to be unsuitable for you according to the Bank’s prevailing policy, you will be temporarily restricted from placing new subscription orders to these investment services. You will thereafter be invited to visit any one of our branches such that our colleagues can explain the product features and risks associated with the investment services to you in details so as to protect your interests. The temporarily-suspended investment services will be re-activated for you afterwards if deemed appropriate.

  4. If the information provided is changed, you should conduct the profiling again as the suitability assessment result may be different. The Financial Profile is intended to assist you to understand your investment needs and your personal risk profile and merely for your consideration and reference. It should not be considered as recommendation or advice on the suitability of any investment product and does not constitute any offer or solicitation to buy or sell any investment product.
